Cans for Christmas was established in 2015 as a community building project between the Catholic Schools around New Zealand to donate canned food to their local St Vincent de Paul or Foodbank.

Cans for Christmas has grown to include 50 schools (Catholic and non Catholic) in 2023 and raised over 23000+ canned food items.
